International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

Mas Camarena School has been teaching the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme since September 2015, after a lot of work  and teacher training. Students who have completed 4th of ESO can choose between studying the Spanish National Baccalaureate and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB).

The school has an IB team. We are working to accomplish highly demanding IB standards and requirements through an extensive two year Plan of Action. This includes many aspects: the adaptation of the IB philosophy and Learner Profile to the planning and curriculum together with the intense training of management, teaching staff and coordinators of the Programme.

The aim of the school is to continue the implementation of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme.

IB is a demanding and comprehensive educational programme which is externally assessed,. It provides an excellent preparation for university and adulthood.

It was conceived to include intellectual, social, emotional and physical  aspects of students’ well-being.

The Programme is acknowledged and respected by prestigious universities throughout the world.

  • The IB students are not only focussed on their results

Through Creativity, Action and Service (CAS), where students learn outside the classroom and develop emotionally, ethically and intellectually.

  • The IB programme shapes students to become independent and self-confident

The IB  Diploma Programme is recognised by universities and employers worldwide.

  • IB graduates have a global mentality

Language classes promote an international mentality which is key in increasingly globalised societies.

  • The IB promotes critical thinking

Students learn how to analise and evaluate varied topics, generate ideas and consider new points of view.

  • DP students have demonstrated efficient time management skills

Students develop good study habits and efficient time management skills for subsequent study or the world of work.

  • The IB does not only evaluate exam techniques

Students learn to comprehend, not only to memorise facts or topics and prepare for exams.

  • DP subjects are not taught in an isolated way

Theory of Knowledge (ToK) encourages students to make connections between subjects.

  • The DP promotes scope and depth in learning
